Traffic police work in Delhi

May I draw attention of police commissioner Delhi towards the working of traffic police in Delhi. There are many good points and need not to be mentioned here as good work is for satisfaction of self and reward in itself.

1-       There are number of places in Delhi rather at each of signal light baggers are not only tapping window glass but also dancing in front of cars and irritating drivers obstructing the traffic. They may become cause of accident. Not only baggers but poor boys and girls who are selling car products on signals are also abuse to the system.

2-       The vehicles including cars and buses block road so that other vehicles behind them already have green signal to go straight and left can’t move until blocking vehicle have green signal to go right. Never found a traffic policeman to challan them.

3-       Buses are major problem creators as they don’t have fear of vehicle damage which car drivers have and buses are never forced to challan.

4-       Everywhere in Delhi people driving dancing from one lane to another due to their nature and secondly buses and small vehicles are moving in same lane and no clear cut rules are there. If at all it is there, you are not checking them. Discipline is maintained by force not by will generally that is why Singapore with 13% Indian population is able to maintain systems there.

5-       Recent incident forced me to write this while I was on the way from Supreme court to Vasant kunj driving myself very consciously as I do in Delhi at the age of 63 with U.P. number, a traffic policeman stopped me asking  money against challan for crossing yellow line. I scolded him badly saying who has crossed yellow line, I am driving in left most lane very consciously? I would not pay here, you may challan, I would ask for camera report. They checked all my documents and allowed me to go saying probably it was somebody else. Their duty was at a place where they could hide themselves and generate legal/ illegal money. The allegation on your department is why the traffic being not checked at number of places where it is required most but posting of traffic policeman for money generation? Just few km. before this I found both sides cars parked in front of congress office causing jam and you don’t dare to touch them. How could you make this country as Singapore while doing partiality?  You don’t touch buses, politicians, administration vehicles, police vehicles itself, baggers, poor class, pedestrians.

Nature has given you an opportunity to serve the people. Work honesty should be on top.
