Railways may have to think fresh and come up with new ideas to match with
airlines. I have few vague ideas which can be converted to practical
requirement of floor.
1-
Employ young boys and girls well uniformed ready to do
cleaning of toilet and compartment as a prime job, providing bed roll. Their
secondary job would be to check tickets, a few minutes job in a single journey.
They are suppose to check curtains & sofa including mechanical, electrical
and electronics devices properly working and get them corrected if not possible
by them. May please start it in Duranto and Rajdhani trains in which most of
the time attendants and TCs are sleeping. Shift all old such guys to other
trains as they won’t like to do it.
2-
In 15 hrs flight Mumbai to New York being vacuum toilets cleaning
is not required otherwise meals serving, collection of used plates and waste
including providing you pillow and blanket, guide to seat, assisting to keep
luggage etc being done by qualified and so called middle class boys and girls
at their sweet will.
3-
You may be worried for wage bill but I am sure it will
reduce as productivity and business would increase. You have to remove or shift
non-efficient staff to local trains and non A.C. compartments.
4-
I am surprise to note that Trivendram Nizamuddin exp.
12431 of dated 17th July had occupancy of 15-25% through out with 50
% dynamic fare, showing full occupancy on booking portal. I travelled alone throughout
in II A.C. with rest 5 berths unoccupied from Udupi to Nizamuddin boarding on
18th July.
I would come up with few suggestions without
spending much and providing facilities in A.C. for better comforts in my next
blog.
